The School Board of Broward County, Florida is dedicated to meeting the educational needs of all students in a safe learning environment.

The Board’s Role:

“The Board’s role is to facilitate the Charter School Law, allowing charter schools that have passed a rigorous application process, to operate with a certain amount of autonomy, to develop educational programs that will empower and educate their students. The Board supports that process while providing oversight to ensure that those schools are effective in accomplishing their goals, and that those goals are measurable and manifest in student achievement. Charter schools enjoy a greater degree of autonomy than traditional public schools, but in exchange they must accept greater accountability.”
Thomas Loughlin, Chair
DC Public Charter School Board
