Dear Florida Intercultural Academy Staff, Parents and Students,
It is truly an honor to have been named your new Principal and to be given the opportunity to work with such an outstanding group of people who are passionate about student learning. There is a real sense of community here and I am delighted to be a part of such a warm learning environment. You can be assured that I am committed to doing whatever it takes to help students succeed. Together we will foster an environment where students engage in rigorous, meaningful learning experiences that are tailored to their individual needs.
I was born and raised in Quincy, Illinois. After graduating with honors from the University of Illinois in 1989,I relocated to South Florida. I worked in a variety of venues for Broward County public schools from 1991-2008. In October, 2008, I completed my M.S. degree in Reading from Nova Southeastern University. I have also worked with students in grades K-12 in the operation of my tutoring company, Tutors Unlimited Educational Services and worked as the founder and director of Touchdowns4Life Charter School in Tamarac from 2003-2006. My son, Jordan, brings so much joy to my life and inspires me to make great things happen for ALL children!
